Handmade Seller partners with The EcoAlliances hub

No one is an island, and no one can do it all alone. Our goal as a magazine is to help business owners that are an army of one or two. We are part of your team, bringing content on many different topics important to business owners. We also don’t go it alone as a magazine, partnering with different organizations to bring interesting content and new ideas.

I am please to announce that Handmade Seller is now partnering with the EcoAlliances Hub! The EcoAlliances hub sponsors the Sustainability Trust Pledge. This pledge has been created for small businesses that are interested in providing commitment to sustainability.

Sustainability has been a topic that has come up repeatedly in my conversations with artisans over the last two years. So many people are interested in embracing sustainability in their businesses, but feel stuck and isolated. Yet many of the standard solutions such as becoming a certified B Corp really only work for large businesses. How can a small company demonstrate its commitment to sustainability?

At the magazine, we have also embraced sustainability where we can. We have featured a number of artisans businesses that are trying to use more sustainable practices, such as our last featured cover artisan Ilke with her story Designing my zero waste business. We plant a tree for every paid subscriber. But we felt like there was more we could do and better ways for us to serve our readers.

Partnering with the EcoAlliances hub felt like a natural next step for the magazine. Through our partnership with the EcoAlliances hub, we are going to start hosting more sustainability related content. Much of this content will be focused on case studies with other artisan businesses that have built sustainability into their businesses. We will continue bringing you ideas on the products and practices you can use for when you design products.
