On July 30th, Etsy released their second quarter financial results. There are several reasons I analyze their financial results each quarter. One- they are still the largest marketplace that sells handmade products. But they also share valuable data about the broader economy and economic trends. This is information that is very hard to get other places. I strongly encourage tracking what is happening with Etsy for this reason, even if you don’t sell on the platform. They are also very open about how they are investing in AI for the platform.
Etsy also provided updated guidance for the rest of the year, and dropped several hints about what will be forthcoming. This guidance was released prior to the announcement of the elimination of the de minimis rule in the US. You can read more about that change here: United States eliminates de minimis rule worldwide Read on to learn what was in their latest financial results!
