As a young student of philosophy, I was eager to learn the principles and ideas that had been passed on over the centuries. From Kant to Hegel, Nietzsche to Descartes, I devoured book after book and believed I would not stop reading until there wasn’t anything left to read.
Unfortunately, I soon became preoccupied with other things and my philosophy books are now catching dust in the far back of my bookshelf.
While I’m still intrigued by the subject matter, I was disappointed when I realized that none of the theories I had learned as a philosophy student applied to my job as a social media manager – until I encountered a book called “Rhetoric” by the great Greek philosopher Aristotle.
