Tips for writing your resume as a business owner

One of the biggest perks of being a small business owner is not having to answer to a boss. You get to make your own schedule (theoretically), you can sleep in (possibly), and you don’t have to work weekends (yeah right). While we don’t often like to acknowledge it, often the idea of launching a small business full-time is just not realistic for many entrepreneurs. The allure of freedom is great, but the hard truth is that we still need to find a way to pay the bills. This might mean juggling a side hustle with a more traditional job so you can’t quite say goodbye to that boss just yet. Writing a resume can seem like a daunting task, especially if you’ve been out of the traditional job market for a while, but it doesn’t have to be. The goal of this article is to break down what a simple resume looks like (because formatting is half the battle) and to give you some solid keywords to use that transfers your side hustle skills into day job desirables.
