Sylvia Bloom worked for 67 years as a secretary for a big New York law firm and generated over $9 million dollars throughout her career by secretly copying her boss’s investment strategies. Nobody was aware she was a millionaire until she left most of it to charity upon her passing in 2016.
Born during the Great Depression – Sylvia Bloom, the daughter of European immigrants, understood the value of good employment. This is why in 1947, when she joined a small wall street law firm, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, she intended to treasure the opportunity and gave the firm 67-years of her life in return.
