The best time to post on Instagram

The Instagram scheduling platform, Later, looked at 12 million Instagram posts and found the best time to post on Instagram. Every account has a unique audience so you may not see these exact trends, but among the posts analyzed by Later, these are generally the best times to post on Instagram by day:

• Monday: 6 am, 10 am, and 10 pm EST

• Tuesday: 2 am, 4 am, and 9 am EST

• Wednesday: 7 am, 8 am and 11 pm EST

• Thursday: 9 am, 12 pm, and 7 pm EST

• Friday: 5 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm EST

• Saturday: 11 am, 7 pm, and 8 pm EST

• Sunday: 7 am, 8 am, and 4 pm EST

The time you post plays an important factor in the success of your content efforts. Instagram prioritizes new content on people’s feeds, so it’s crucial to optimize your posting time in order to get maximum views. Luckily, it’s easy to find out exactly when your followers are online with Instagram’s native analytics tool, Instagram Insights. 

Timing your posts can be tricky, though. For example, if you run an online store located in Sydney, but the majority of your audience lives in the US, you might lose clicks and engagement because you’re posting when they are asleep. And what if your audience is scattered around the world?

Thankfully, Later found a solution for that, too. After analyzing thousands of influencers and their posts, they found that these are the best times to post around the world: 

• Los Angeles: 8 am PST

• New York: 11 am EST

• London: 7 pm GMT

• Sydney: 8 am AEDT
