Etsy sellers sound off on new delivery requirements, raising concerns about the platform's shipping changes and potential impact on small handmade businesses.

Speed VS Quality: Will Etsy’s New Delivery Requirements Pressure Sellers Too much?

The issue recently arose in a forum entitled, "Anyone else getting the feeling Etsy's hyperfocusing on shipping dates?" Now, more than 100 sellers have responded issuing similar concerns for the future of their small handmade brands on Etsy. According to these sellers, Etsy has now begun demanding estimated delivery times and automatically choosing USPS priority shipping when their products are being sold and shipped. This has caused many smaller brands that must create custom orders as well as larger brands juggling various orders at once to have to either speed up their entire process or lose sales because of it.

Some sellers are fearing that Etsy’s decision to go in this direction has to do with their desire to be more like Amazon or eBay in the future. However, Etsy has a solution with their page on setting up processing times and "ship by" dates. By doing this, you can create a cushion for your brand and always have your products shipped in the proposed time frame.
