Tell us the story behind how you designed this craft fair display?

My design started out with two sets of risers back in 2015. Natural wood was pretty typical for Soap Maker displays, and still is today. Over time, I added and subtracted other risers and dishes to compliment the products and make the customer’s shopping experience easier. By using the risers for most of my booth displays, it helps me limit the amount of different products & scents I have on display- reducing the options helps reduce decision fatigue for the customers.

How did you adapt your design to fit the type of event you were attending?

Oh this is a great question! Because I sell soaps, candles, and other heat sensitive items, I have to be very aware of where the sun hits my tent- specifically with outdoor events. By using a series of moveable displays, I found it so much easier to move my products around as the sun changes during the event, or depending on which direction my display faces at a particular event. These moveable displays also allow me to expand into a bigger or corner booth, and also reduce the footprint for indoor shows, without having to invest in tons of different displays.

What kinds of materials did you use to create this display?

My main display risers are made out of white pine. I also have a few smaller displays that are actually made out of bamboo spice racks! They fit the natural wood aesthetic and were way cheaper to buy than actual display shelves for craft shows. From there I change out my table cloths to fit the seasonal vibes for  spring/ summer or fall/ winter
