Staging a fabulous product photo

Photography staging ideas

The importance of good product photography cannot be overstated. The last few years have brought many social media platform algorithm changes. There have also been many changes on platforms where many artisans sell, resulting in a new wave of artisans seeking to build out their own websites. Great product photography helps you stand out on both social media as well as on your own website. While there are services that will take photos for you, many artisans aren’t comfortable with the level of investment required in order to do this.

This makes DIY Product photography a highly sought after topic for many artisans. There are many introductory guides available on the basics of photography. After you’ve mastered the basics of product photography, what comes next?

We want to share several ideas with you on how to create a fabulous product photo. One that gets people to stop scrolling for a second. Or makes them just HAVE to have that glorious product you’ve created. For a long time, we’ve admired how Deb Buckingham stages her photos. Many times we see her social media feed, pause and sigh, and smile at how beautiful the photos are!

I reached out to Deb to ask her to share some of her best kept secrets on photography staging. She has worked with photography for over two decades now, and has some unique ideas on how you can improve your product photography.
