Problem solve your way to success
Discover how Lennea Truesdell transformed her creative frustration into a successful business, generating over 15,000 sales through problem-solving and entrepreneurial spirit.

Hello, magnificent makers! I’m Lennea Truesdell (leh-nay-uh, in case you’re looking for an unpronounceable name to name your children), CEM (Chief Executive Maker) of Minnie and Maude.
In my pre-kids life I was a creatively frustrated physical therapist who was happy to ditch my career to stay at home with my four kids, watch HGTV and faux paint every room in my house (shout out to Trading Spaces). In 2004 I began my journey as a creative entrepreneur, opening a brick and mortar home and gift boutique in my little town of Bremen, Ohio. I quickly learned that working 60 hours a week while making no salary was not going to work for me so I tried, rather unsuccessfully, to sell my mixed media art online through several venues. After the financial collapse of 2008 and with four children to put through college, I decided to learn screen and digital printing and began a small promotional printing and apparel business from my home which led (eventually) to the opening of my current shop Minnie and Maude. As of this writing I am happy to say I have made and sold well over 15,000 playful printed throw pillows, tote bags, tea towels, aprons and burlap bins with Minnie and Maude’s unique blend of wit and sentiment.
