My Boss gave me an ultimatum
It was either his business or mine

I’m Kristen Runvik, the founder, herbalist, and naturalist behind Lagom Body Co. I formulate and handcraft nature-centric skincare for earth lovers from ingredients you find in your backyard, in an alpine meadow, in the woods, and in the kitchen. Think: plantain, yarrow, nettles, and oats.
As a clinically trained western holistic herbalist, I’m passionate about using North American botanicals that I know and love—and have deeply studied (and continue to study—the herbal journey is never done!) all their amazing properties for the mind, body, spirit, and skin.
As a nature lover myself, I find handcrafting beautiful skincare from plants a very gratifying, creative, and beautiful process. But I haven’t always been creating skincare products—in fact, before I started Lagom Body Co., I worked in a professional marketing career for startups in Chicago and Sydney.
As you can tell by the title of this story, there was a turning point in my career where I had to make a huge decision—but, before we get into that, I’d love to share how Lagom Body Co. got started...
