How This Purse Designer Gets Thousands of Views for Her Videos- Issue 38 is Live!

The November magazine is now available!

Inside you’ll get to meet Rebekah Scott and many other artisan business owners! Rebekah began her business sewing purses from her own curtains. Then she hesitantly began posting videos about them on Facebook and as she grew more comfortable with the process, her bank account began to change. Now her videos get thousands of views (one got 47,000 views when released)!

In the November magazine, Rebekah shares:

  • How video has impacted her business

  • The types of video she records

  • What equipment she uses for DIY videos

  • Her video publishing schedule (and what days of the week works best)

  • Tips for making DIY videos more authentic

  • How she created a professional video that got 47,000+ views

“I love my record button! I enjoy pushing record and spilling my feelings over the newest style, favorite fabric combo or the latest funny occurrence in my studio with my coworkers. The more I push the record button the more fluent I get with the videos and actually the shorter they became because I’m able to communicate my thoughts and ideas faster and in more edible ‘bites’ for consumers. It wasn’t always this easy, though. I made it too difficult. I thought I needed to script out my words, my actions and my thoughts. I even used index cards.. etc, but now I briefly think through “talking points” and then push the button. The more ‘real’ I was with the videos (meaning no ‘pretty filter’) the more our customers saw my authenticity and responded with engagement. Eventually, the popularity of the videos starting making us money!”
