How I unexpectedly became an artist and created multiple streams of income

Hi! My name is Andrea and I’m the owner and designer of dbandrea (formerly known as Pressed Flower Crafts). My company was born after I dried and pressed a beautiful bouquet of flowers that was given to me for Valentine’s Day. I wanted to keep not only the pictures and memories of a special day, but much more than that.

After I made my first piece, which still hangs in my bathroom, I started to get a lot of interest from friends and family. Months later, I created an Instagram account and a website, and before I knew it, I was selling my art to strangers! I never thought I could sell something I created with my hands, so it was a beautiful moment for me and my career. A few months in, I was contacted by a bride who wanted to preserve her bouquet, and that’s when I realized that I could do much more than sell art online or through family and friends.
