How I landed a publishing deal for my DIY Craft book
Get advice from an author for the steps to take to publish your book

Was I one of the lucky ones? No.
That might sound like a weird question for someone sharing about how they landed a craft book publishing deal, so let me back track a little. Over the past few years, I've seen embroidery artists (mostly on Instagram) share about how they were approached by a publisher and landed a book deal.
As I delved into the publishing world, I’d come to find out this is pretty much a dream scenario. Was I one of those lucky artists? No. In all reality, this doesn't happen all that often. Instead, I put in a lot of hard work and energy into getting my embroidery book idea published.

Find Your Niche
First, decide on what you want to write about. I had a few concepts in mind from clothing embroidery to botanical embroidery to landscapes designs. I pulled book idea inspiration from themes I use in my everyday work as a teaching fiber artist. These are things that I’m known for and not concepts completely new to me.
