A "toetally" unfunny custom order request...

At one of my very first summer markets, I had a gentleman ask if I made custom jewelry. I said, "Certainly, what do you have in mind?" He replied that he'd bring something the next week that he wanted made into a wire wrapped earring for himself. Sure enough, he returned the following Saturday with a toenail that he had had removed and handed it to me! I was taken by surprise and told him that I drew the line at body parts and pieces! Yikes. Funny now, not so much at the time.

A "present" in our customer's packaging...

Working from home with 2 small children has its perks but doesn't come without the "What on earth!" moments. We still ship from our home office and my girls somedays get to be apart of this fun activity. From time to time toys would go missing, but it wasn't until a customer actually reached out inquiring about the "added bonus" in her package that I realized what was happening. One of the girls actually lost (or tossed) a toy in with the packaged candles. Since we use a mix of paper, bubble wrap and peanuts, you can only imagine how the toy was not visible at the time. However (and thankfully), I have customers who are understanding and actually get a laugh out of it! handmadeseller.com — MARCH 2020 39
