Funny stories from handmade sellers

We have a few funny stories for you this month from Handmade Sellers to keep things on the lighter side.

"Every year we participate in an Art show held the same weekend in August. Leading up to the show, I typically take a day off from my day job to get us organized, get the vehicle loaded, etc. One summer, two years ago, while loading the SUV, I slipped on loose gravel and fell awkwardly, breaking my foot. Unwilling to miss our one important show, I ignored my sister (and partner) and did the show anyway. She chastised me the entire time but we had an excellent show! My foot still needs work and isn’t fully healed. The NEXT summer, while prepping for the same show, my sister/partner fell inside the house and fractured her femur just above the knee! I drove her to the ER, got her crutches and a brace, and we went to the show. Once again, we had a great showing. We’re wondering which of us is going to sacrifice a body part next for another good show! After all, the show must go on."

"I am a jewelry designer. My specialty is organic items: natural things I find on my hikes in the woods like leaves and shells. I had found about a dozen beautifully formed acorns last fall that I'd put in a dish in my studio, ready for me to work with. Would I wire wrap them? Would I electroform them? Oh, the possibilities! I sometimes let my pet rats loose in my studio to keep me company. One day, I couldn't find Clara, and looked everywhere for her. I kept hearing crunching, but couldn't figure out what she'd found to eat! Oh, she found something, alright. Clara gorged herself on 12 acorns. I found the broken shells scattered under my bead cart, and she even chewed the caps so I couldn't use them either. Naughty rats don't get free run of my studio anymore!"
