Our latest mischief
In the last newsletter, I was feeling downright plucky. Lots of positive momentum, and steady forward progress in spite of a challenging year. Have you ever had a situation that just knocks the plucky right out of you? Unfortunately, this happened to me last weekend.
I live in Minneapolis, MN. There’s no easy way to write this next part. On Saturday, a state representative and her husband were fatally shot, and a state senator and his wife were shot multiple times. I think it is fair to say that many are shocked by what happened, not just here but around the world.
On Saturday afternoon, I headed out to the Stone Arch bridge festival. I love going to festivals around the world as I meet the coolest artisan businesses. I was feeling pretty unsettled and introverted. Some artisans managed to coax me in to look simply through their kindness and generosity. I of course found a few treasures to purchase and take home. 😀
That experience made me reflective and grateful. So many artisans extending grace to strangers at their events this weekend in spite of all that happened and continues to happen. Welcoming people into their treasured spaces and giving them a reason to smile. Inviting them to stay a while. So many of you wear invisible superhero capes regularly simply by being you.
Thank you so much for the innovation, beauty, and grace you bring to our world as artisan businesses. 🙏💛

I try to have a good variety of different services, newsletters, and providers. While taxes are many people’s least favored topic, this newsletter focuses on the topic with practical advice for small business owners. So if you want someone else to stay on top of tax changes, you might like this!
