Lighting is for photography what salt is for cooking—you can go without it, but the result is most likely bland and uninspiring. When marketing your product on Instagram, the right lighting arrangement is crucial, because all potential buyers have to go on is a photograph. 

There are two types of lighting you can choose for your product photography. While one lighting arrangement may work well for some products, it may weaken the appearance of others. Let’s take a closer look at the two.
