Creating an eco-friendly art product

Embracing the rise of conscious consumerism

How are you creating points of differentiation for your business?  When a prospective customer sees your products, what are the kinds of things that make what you do stand out? Now might be time to explore using eco-friendly materials to create your product.

It’s a great way to embrace the trend of conscious consumerism. Conscious consumerism embraces a more mindful approach to purchasing, and embraces sustainability. Customers want to support small businesses. But they also want to feel good about their impact on the environment as well. Is your business ready for the continued rise of conscious consumerism? As an artist where would you look to find the products that would support this trend?

I attended the Creativation by NAMTA show in New Orleans in March of this year. I spoke with several companies making sustainable products for your artist business. I will introduce you to three small companies that are manufacturing eco-friendly products. Each product was carefully crafted. It included feedback processes with artists.  I also commissioned an artist to make a new creation using these products. She shares her insights on this process.
