Traveling through the farm, to the Bush and the Beach

We touch down in Australia on a hot and sunny summer day. Coming from a cool northern climate, it is a blast of bliss. This is my second trip to Australia, but my first since choosing a home working in the handmade industry. This trip was all about savoring and exploring Australia. Not just spending time in big cities, but getting out to more rural areas. Ever since we bought the plane tickets, I’ve developed an obsession. Fiber and textiles have been on my mind. The amount of time I’ve been thinking about it might not even be healthy. But it’s there nonetheless. Can you relate?
This trip included driving 1900 miles from Sydney all the way up to Airlie beach in the WhitSundays. I’ve always enjoyed road trips. My husband did all the driving, allowing me to relish in the amazing scenery across Australia. It also gives me more time to contemplate and appreciate cultural differences I see.
