A mum with a business - Jo Pearce

Discover how Jo Pearce transformed her passion for jewelry into a thriving home-based business while balancing family life and creative entrepreneurship.

My journey into the world of jewelry started about 6 years ago. Having three teenagers that were reasonably independent, I was looking to return to work, but I needed something part time that allowed me the freedom to fit around a hectic family life as well as two dogs!

I have always loved jewelry and I started making a few items with beads and a lot of sparkle that I sold at craft fairs in my local area. After a few years I found that I was feeling a little deflated because I wanted to make jewelry that was completely unique, but that involved learning a skill or three!

I tried my hand at resin, which I enjoyed, but again I found that I was a little bored. Then I read about kiln fired and torch fired enamel… and the rest is history! My enamel journey began and my fascination with fired enamel on metal continues to this day.
