5 Questions with Emily Kerr-Finell from Wholesale in a Box

Have you considered wholesale, but been unsure if it's right for your business? Or have you tried wholesale and not had the results you were expecting? For some artisan businesses, wholesale can offer great revenue diversification from direct selling to customers. Adding wholesale to your business requires its own unique strategy. In this issue, I welcome Emily Kerr-Finnell from Wholesale in a Box to answer 5 questions about the world of wholesale.
I started Wholesale In a Box with my husband back in 2015. It was very much a labor of love and “late nights at the kitchen table” thing because we are really passionate about helping people do the work they love (in this case, running an independent maker/product company).
We started with a different model, where we provided software and leads for folks who were doing direct outreach to independent stores, as well as providing coaching and training. But as the marketplaces have grown bigger, we evolved to focusing entirely on the coaching and training part of things.
We’ve found that people really appreciate our approach because we help people find THEIR best approach to wholesale. Every brand and every person is different. So there is no one-size-fits-all approach. But we can help folks find their best approach and share all the best practices so you’re not reinventing the wheel or going down blind alleys.
