Creating Eye-Catching Product Photos for Instagram

Part 2: Staging Your Products

In 2019, e-commerce surpassed brick-and-mortar sales for the first time. The convenience of being able to make a purchase from the living room couch is just one aspect of what makes online shopping so successful. In the business of selling online, high-quality visuals have a huge impact on how well your products perform. According to emarketer.com, more than 80% of US smartphone users agreed that product images are very influential to their digital purchasing decisions.

Think about it. When a customer visits a brick-and-mortar store, they can touch, feel, smell, and sometimes even try a product. But those who shop online, rely heavily on visuals to inform and drive a purchase. Amateur-looking product shots can diminish customers’ trust and negatively impact your sales. But don’t worry, you don’t need to spend your life savings on photography equipment or hire a professional right away to create eye-catching product photos.

In part two of our Instagram photography article series, I’ll show you creative ways to stage your product for your website, online shop, or Instagram account.
